This is a photo of the Roman ruins at Volubilis in Morocco. It was submitted by Tamea Pozo. Volubilis is one of the most well preserved ruins in Morocco. The Romans constructed the city in the site of a previous Carthaginian settlement in the 3rd century B.C. Unlike some Roman cities, when the Romans evacuated the city at the end of the 3rd century, the city continued to be occupied.
